TetraNode Base Station Systems create the TETRA Access network. Thanks to its modular design, the Base Station Systems can be deployed with minimal installation costs for virtually any base station application. The power-efficient design of the Base Station System reduces power consumption and heat dissipation, which was recognised by winning the Green TETRA Award.
Every Base Station System consists of one to sixteen R-8070 TETRA Base Station transceivers within one to four 19″ rack enclosures. The R-8070 is our third generation TETRA transceiver, featuring 40 WRMS output power and up to triple diversity receivers within a compact rack-mount design. Each R-8070 provides one TETRA carrier with a capacity of four simultaneous communication channels. The R-8070 transceiver exceeds the TETRA Voice and Data RF performance specifications by considerable margins and offers a powerful local user interface for easier configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting. The R-8070 is available for the frequency ranges 350 to 470 and 806 to 870 MHz.
TetraNode Base Station Systems can be fitted with a Fallback Site Controller, offering TETRA local trunking functionality for a Base Station System when the interconnection to the TetraNode core is lost. In fallback operation all TETRA functionality is maintained, except those features for which access to gateways is required.
